In this program, a surgical procedure will be performed demonstrating tooth extraction followed by determination of the appropriate placement of a dental implant at the time of extraction. Participants will view clinical procedures performed by a highly-skilled clinician who will explain and showcase advanced surgical and restorative techniques, helping participants to implement them into their practices. Given the cutting-edge nature of the procedures and services presented in this program, participants will be given the ability to watch the clinical procedures, then participate in an interactive question and answer session with the speaker about the techniques performed.
This program will demonstrate a step-by-step, practical approach to delivering provisional full-arch prostheses on the day of implant placement. The design and fabrication of the definitive prosthesis will also be discussed, as well as the appropriate timeframe for delivery. Multiple clinical case examples will be presented demonstrating optimal treatment for patients presenting with various, challenging clinical situations. The procedures will be presented and explained, using clinical records, radiographs, models, and photographs. The criteria for the selection of materials and technologies, and alternatives, will be discussed as they are relevant to each case. At the completion of each case presentation, the clinical perspective of the treating clinician will be summarized to include: key takeaways from the treatment; a discussion of the most successful aspect of the treatment; and how the same treatment type might be performed differently.
Dentistry today has advanced dramatically by embracing modern-day technology. Implant dentistry has made vast improvements allowing for simplicity and predictability for all implant cases. This presentation will describe how to incorporate the digital workflow allowing for predictable implant placement with the final restoration in mind. Everything from the surgical planning with CBCT analysis to fabricating surgical guides, to taking digital impressions with the iTero Element® 2 Intraoral Scanner and delivering predictable restorations, will be discussed. Combining digital technology with surgical and restorative planning allows for better clinical outcomes for both the patient and clinician.
Clinicians face many challenges which may compromise successful implant outcomes. Systemic conditions, various medications, and nicotine use may create situations which decrease implant success. Sites where implants have previously failed may be particularly problematic. Selection of the proper implant is crucial to achieving a positive result for patients.
