Dental implants are highly predictable when treatment protocols are followed. Peri-implantitis is a disease that threatens implant survival long-term. This presentation will provide an overview of the various stages of peri-implant disease—from peri-implant mucositis to peri-implantitis. The clinical cases to be presented in this program will demonstrate identification and treatment for various stages of peri-implant disease. The procedures will be presented and explained, using clinical records, radiographs, models, and photographs. The criteria for selection of materials and technologies, and alternatives, will be discussed as they are relevant to each case. At the completion of each case presentation, the clinical perspective of the treating clinician will be summarized to include: key takeaways from the treatment; a discussion of the most successful aspect of the treatment; and how the same treatment type might be performed differently.
This program will highlight the movement from analog to a complete digital workflow for treatment acceptance, site planning, including surgical and orthodontic procedures, and final restorative planning. The latest version of the iTero Element 5D Imaging System will be introduced, followed by a discussion of the benefits of the scanner for teledentistry. Additionally, the advantages and convenience of BellaTek® Encode® Healing Abutments used in conjunction with intraoral scanning, will be presented.
In this program, the surgical procedure to be performed will include extraction of failing mandibular anterior implants due to poorly positioned placement, advanced bone grafting, and extraction of periodontally involved teeth. Participants will view clinical procedures performed by a highly-skilled clinician who will explain and showcase advanced surgical and restorative techniques, helping participants to implement them into their practices. Given the cutting-edge nature of the procedures and services presented in this program, participants will be given the ability to watch the clinical procedures, then participate in an interactive question and answer session with the speaker about the techniques performed.
